- Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction
- Man Booker Prize (written by a citizen of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, or the Republic of Ireland)
- National Book Award
- Nobel Prize for Literature (awarded to an author for an entire body of work – not a specific title)
- Pulitzer Prize for Fiction (American authors). Pulitzer also gives out awards for nonfiction, biography, and more.
