October 2019 Volunteer of the Month

Meet Amelia!

Amelia has been helping out the Augusta County Library for many years and faithfully comes in to keep our books shelved and in order. This will unfortunately be her last year as a volunteer at ACL, as she will be moving to be closer to her family.

Amelia was born and raised in Waynesboro, but she and her husband spent thirty years moving around the country before returning here to retire in 1998.  She and her husband have two adult children – a daughter in New Jersey and a son in Korea, and six grandchildren.  They have lived in various places, including New Jersey, Arizona, Schenectady, New York and other cities in Virginia.

Amelia enjoys reading, traveling, and volunteering at her church as well as the library.  She will be missed by the Augusta County Library family and we wish her all the best in her new adventures! Thank you, Amelia for all your hard work for our library.
